Today we left the RV around 4:30am. It was about 45 degrees and the stars were magnificent-----more than I have ever seen! It was a tad breezy on the bike, but it was a beautiful morning.

At that hour  you think you are possibly the only people awake, but as we got closer to the site of the balloon ascension there were lots of other people awake!! And the sights were absolutely amazing. A few of the balloons actually lifted off before it was light and the glow from the fires filling the balloons was beautiful. As it started to get light the huge field of balloons were filled in waves and lifted off in waves. My pictures do not do justice to the beauty, but do give you the 'feeling'!

When all of the balloons were in the air, we left and went to the Plaza in the historic part of Albuquerque for some shopping and lunch. The plaza is full of colorful shops and there was live music in several locations around the square. A lively place on the Balloon Fiesta weekend!

We were actually able to pick up the Jeep today so we decided to go up  the 'Turquoise Trail' or state road 14 for a scenic trip back to Santa Fe and do one more quick stop in Madrid.

Another great day and now we are resting at Cochiti Lake .
