Today was the official day to go to Estes Park and go hiking in the Rocky Mountain National Park. All went well on the drive up, however we did notice that the sun was no longer shining and the trees along the road were really blowing.....then we noticed the drop in the temperature! When we arrived at our designated trail head we were in snow! It was extremely cold and windy and we were not at all prepared with our wardrobes, so we took the 256ft. walk to Bear Lake and called it a hike! Then we drove around the park and had some elk sightings. I took way too many photos of the elk---and then when we drove in to town on our way down, there was a herd of elk right there at the donut shop! Wouldn't you know!

We had lunch in Estes Park, did a little tourist shopping and drove back to Fort Collins mid afternoon (where it was 65 degrees). Lindsay and I did a walk on the Poudre River Trail, went to give Jetta her medicine, and came back to the RV where Lindsay fixed dinner, did some studying and then packed up to head back to her dorm.
