Still no Jeep!

Today we rode the motorcycle into Sante Fe with the intention of picking up the Jeep, which in itself was an adventure for me! However, our plans were foiled again when we were told that some parts of the brake system had gotten so hot when the calipers froze that they had melted ( not the official explanation, but I thought that said it well enough). So more parts had to be ordered from Denver and it should be ready tomorrow.....we are now just taking the delays in stride and adjusting our plans as needed!

We went to the Plaza in Sante Fe where shopping was abundant and restaurant choices were many!  We ate lunch at Pasqual's, (pictured above ) which was listed in the 'Road Food' book given to me by my co-workers (thanks again my friends!) and sat at the community table and met some interesting folks from California also in the area to see the Balloon Fiesta.

One of  the highlights of the trip today was on the way to Santa Fe there was a car stopped barely off of the pavement on a 2 lane road, the driver's door was open and he was standing in the middle of the road with a large stick. At first I thought he was a surveyor!, but as we got closer we noticed he was guiding a tarantula across the road with the stick!!! Now my question is: did he just see the tarantula as he was driving and stop  to help it cross, or was it his pet he was letting out for a walk???

All for now, resting in Lake Cochiti, New Mexico (pictured above)....Debbie and John
