We went to Bryce Canyon today. It was a fairly short drive on another beautiful day in southern Utah. We passed a herd of antelope on the road into the park and I was totally unprepared with my camera--so you will just have to take my word!! We did see some deer right after the visitors center and got a close up.

We took the road to the end of the park and then stopped at all the vistas on the way back down and took a hike on the Canyon Loop. Several of the pictures are taken on the hike--it was beautiful. We started down the side of one of the rock walls doing several switchbacks to the bottom of the canyon.....once down we were in an area with large pine trees and dry river beds. There were several rock archways on the trail and the views of the rock formations were breathtaking (as was the ascension out of the canyon!). The large rock towers are called 'hoodoos'----which are formed by millions of years of erosion and the affects of freezing and thawing.

Planning on staying around the RV tomorrow---catching up on a variety of tasks..tonight we are resting in Glendale, Utah....Debbie and John
